Who we are

Humans Together LLC (“Humans Together”, “we”) builds platform infrastructure for in-person communities. This policy covers data we collect on humanstogether.community and the community subdomains we host. Contact: hello@humanstogether.community.

What we collect

When you sign up, we collect your email address and (optionally) your phone number. When you purchase a ticket or membership, we also collect your first and last name plus payment information through our payment processor (Stripe). We never collect, store, or process card numbers directly; Stripe handles all of that.

How we use it

We use your email and phone number to send you transactional communications (order receipts, RSVP confirmations, day-of reminders, sign-in links) and, if you separately opted in, occasional marketing announcements from the community you joined.

SMS data — specific terms

Phone numbers you provide are used to send the SMS programs described on our SMS Terms page. We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. The only third party that receives your phone number is our telecommunications provider, Twilio Inc., who delivers the SMS on our behalf and is bound by their own terms.

SMS consent is collected via the public sign-up form on humanstogether.community: providing your phone number constitutes opt-in to transactional SMS; a separate, unchecked-by-default checkbox labeled “Yes, also send me promotional SMS” collects optional opt-in to the marketing program. SMS consent is stored per-account and can be revoked at any time by replying STOP to any message, by editing your profile, or by emailing hello@humanstogether.community.

Your choices

You can opt out of marketing email or SMS at any time from your profile page or by replying STOP to any SMS we send. You can delete your account by contacting your community’s steward or emailing us directly.

Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we retain only what we’re required to keep for legal or tax purposes (typically payment records for 7 years). SMS opt-in/opt-out records are retained as required by TCPA / TCR compliance rules.
